Kees Storm
Kees Storm was appointed a Non-Executive Director of Unilever in 2006. He is also Chairman of Unilever’s Audit Committee.
Non-Executive Director
Born in Amsterdam in 1942, Kees began his career as an assistant accountant. He then spent two years as a military lieutenant before attending the University of Rotterdam, where he was awarded an MA in business economics in 1969.
His first role after graduating was at Moret & Limperg. After six successful years there he was appointed to the executive board of Kon Scholten-Honig in 1976. He then took up a position on the executive board of AEGON, where he subsequently took responsibility for regions including the USA, the Netherlands and Europe. In 1993 Kees became chairman of the board at AEGON, stepping down in 2002.
Kees’s career has since involved him with some of the world’s biggest companies: he sits on the supervisory boards of KLM, PON Holdings, AEGON, Baxter International and InBev. His interest in healthcare has also led him to advisory positions with the Amsterdam Cancer Center and the Health Insurance Fund.
Kees is fluent in four languages, loves running and enjoys adding new pieces to his pewter collection. He is married with two children.
